An idea of getting famous erotic novel on the stage is connected with a desire of finding and experimenting with theater form and looking for borders of spectator’s and actors experience. The story of O. is not only a sadomasochistic novel but it is a celebration of rediscovering freedom through pain and humiliation.

Opening night: 7th September 2010 in A Studio Rubín Prague

THEATER DIRECTOR

“As I mentioned before, putting erotic novel on the stage seemed to me impossible. I have lost this doubt from the first minutes of the performance. The start of the performance was great because you even didn’t realized it has started. A couple sitting at the bar as we were started to seduce themselves, next to us. They were one of us. Through this play, we started to follow the main character, O. to her trip to the old castle, Roissy. With her, we entered the theater itself, getting a glass of champagne from nearly naked girls. I got the feeling I am totally living this story, mixing emotions of excitement, repulse and empathy. “
